Cecilie Bahnsen’s 27 models were all styled identically for the SS19 show, with centre partings, braids and almost makeup-free faces.
Cecilie Bahnsen was all about bringing out the pure, honest and ultra-feminine sides of her 27 models. This was done by scraping the hair away from the face, styling shiny pigtails at the nape of the neck and leaving the face almost makeup-free. So that there is nothing to hide behind – and that is simply beautiful.
“We blow-dried the hair with Protein Spray – styling a centre parting from forehead to nape. When we use a gentle and moisturising spray for the blow-dry, the hair becomes as ‘untouched’ as possible. Then we brushed the hair back into two pigtails, approximately 5 centimetres from the base of the skull. They were tightly braided, folded in the middle and sewn together with thread at the nape of the neck. Our inspiration is still Japanese boarding school girls – which has been a theme of ours over the past few seasons,” explained Cim Mahony from Studio Cim Mahony when we met him backstage.
