Saks Potts * Ice Skating Princess

The city sizzled when the Saks Potts Fashion Olympics took place in Østerbro in Copenhagen. A total of 77 models and dancers stood shoulder to shoulder as they were prepped for the catwalk The Olympic Games and female figure skaters were the inspiration for the makeup for the Saks Potts Spring Show 2019.

Makeup, Zenia Jaeger, key makeup artist, explained the look:

“It’s funny that after living in New York for almost six years, I’m still standing here using good, old Tromborg Mineral Foundation. There just isn’t anything better than this – and I’ve really tried everything out there. Many of the models I work with in New York give me strange looks when I take it out of my kit. They aren’t familiar  with the brand and are afraid that it won’t provide enough cover. But as soon as it goes on, they just love it and immediately put it on their shopping lists.  We divided the models into two different makeup looks. The first look was female figure skaters. The other was called Natural & Glossy. The eyes of the ‘figure skaters’ were done in very different ways, but all of them were made up with one crazy colour and lots of stones and glitter. A makeup look that wants to attract attention to itself. For the Natural & Glossy look, we used products from Glossier. I particularly love their Lidstar cream eyeshadows which we blended into the models day cream and used on the lids for a glowing look. We also used Haloscope Highlighter for the cheekbones. It contains pure pomade which produces the glossy effect we were aiming for. But the hot weather also helps to achieve a glistening skin!”

The hair:

“We worked with Mascobado Gel by Less is More to gather the tight ponytails. We made the models’ ponytails longer with extensions by Balmain Hair Couture and used Mason Pearson brushes to brush the fine baby hair into place. Finally, all braids were sprayed with Thyme Lacque and styled with heat from a Dyson Pro blow-dryer,” explained key hair stylist Cim Mahony for Team Studio Cim Mahony.
